Dear Black Girls Book Club

In celebration of Black History Month and in preparation for Crown Act Week, Black Girls for Liberation hosted the Dear Black Girl book club, a transformative literary experience focused on affirming Black girlhood and fostering cultural identity development. Over the course of the month, participants engaged in virtual discussions about the book, a collection of affirmations that celebrated the beauty, strength, and complexity of Black girls.

To enhance the experience, each participant received a curated book box that included a copy of Dear Black Girl, a Black Girls Liberation t-shirt, stickers, a journal for reflections, and additional swag. This book club emphasized the importance of bringing literature into our spaces as a means of affirmation, self-expression, and connection.
